Changing the lives of adults with learning disabilities forever

World Of Work

20131015-_MG_7176

Government is trying to get everybody out to work, including people with learning disabilities. So here at The Helping Hands Group we are building on the individuals current skills which will enable them in the World of Work.

Over the last few months, the management team have been compiling our World of Work curriculum. We have made resources for the curriculum area so that individuals can learn about the World of Work, including different occupations, places of work, equipment used at work and uniforms worn. Resources are available using different levels of support including photos, pictures, symbols, and words.

We offer:
  1. Work Experience on site.
  2. Work Placements. We currently have individuals who carry these out at Peterborough United Football Club, Newark Farm, The Cresset, and Brake Station. We have also had individuals who have attended placements at MacAnthony Media and Spencer’s Hair Salon.
  3. Up skilling individuals following our World of Work curriculum.
