Fenlake Opens its Doors

Monday 18th January saw the opening of The Helping Hands Group's fantastic new centre, Fenlake.

It was an exciting day as we welcomed media from BBC Look East and The Peterborough Telegraph who were both on hand to cover the event.

Group Director Suzanne Gilby said "Today has been everything I dreamt it would be, to get to the point we are at today has taken an incredible amount of hard work, so many long days and stretched out nights, but seeing everyones faces today, makes it all worthwhile.

I want to personally thank those who gave up their time to help us and also to those who so generously donated items and provided their services in order to allow us to open the doors.

Today was a 'soft' opening due to Covid, however, the arrival of different media throughout the day added to the air of excitement. The most important thing though is that EVERYONE absolutely loves the centre and they all felt at home from the off, and the ample amount of space proved to be a real benefit from the off.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Fenlake will be an incredible centre for those that use it and the opportunities available there are second to none."

Footage from today can be seen on BBC 1 this evening at 6:30 and pictures from the event can be seen below.
